Chocolate Chip Cookies
From "My First Cookbook"
10.5-11 tbsp salted butter, softened by leaving on the counter for 1 hour
1/2 c granulated sugar
1/2 c packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla (optional - recommended on toll house bag)
1 1/2 c flour (try with 1 1/4 c flour)
1/2 tsp baking soda
6 oz chocolate chips (about 1 1/4 c)
Makes about 4 dozen.
Heat oven to 350. (325 on our oven)
Mix both sugars, butter, and egg in large bowl. (can melt the butter a little in the microwave and use a hand mixer to make this easier)
Stir in flour and baking soda.
(Add vanilla if you're going to)
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop dough onto ungreased sheet. (by teaspoonfuls - make very small cookies)
Bake 9-10 minutes.
