Oatmeal Bread

Mix and let cool to lukewarm:
2 c boiling water
1 c oatmeal
Later...
Mix in another bowl:
1 yeast cake (2 oz) = 3 pkg dry
1/2 c warm water
1/4 c sugar
1/2 c flour
Let sit for 10 minutes.
Add yeast mix to lukewarm oatmeal mix plus:
2 tbsp butter
1/4 c sugar
1 tbsp salt (one teaspoon okay)
Add enough flour to make a stiff dough:
3 3/4 - 4 c flour
Knead well and let rise until double 1 1/2 - 2 hours (warm, no drafts area)
Punch down, put in 2 loaf pans and let rise until double.
Bake 45 minutes at 350.
Makes 2 loaves
